Tennis fans all over the world look forward to July every year because we get to enjoy two weeks of Wimbledon, which is considered by many to be the most prestigious tennis event. This competition, like the other Grand Slams, always brings up plenty of entertainment and drama, and a lot of money is placed in tennis bets over the course of the tournament. The 2024 women's Wimbledon event will occur between the 1st and 13th of July, and below you can find out my views on who will win.

🎾 2024 Wimbledon Women's Betting Odds

Like in the men's competition, 128 players will be taking place in the women's draw and it also has a knockout format, meaning that players cannot even afford to lose one match. I enjoy such a format because it makes each match even more dramatic as the players know that there are no second chances available. Overall, there are 64 matches so there are plenty of betting options open for you.

Below I am going to take a look at four players who I believe have a good shot of going on to become champion this year. I will also provide you with the odds that three top bookmakers are currently offering for each player to be the outright winner.

1️⃣Iga Swiatek

The young Pole has dominated women's tennis over the last few seasons and this success can be put down to how aggressive she is on the court - something that many of her opponents struggle to deal with. No matter where she is on the court, she will always look to play an attacking shot rather than a defensive one, putting her opponents on the back foot. She also does not make many unforced errors, which is always an advantage. She has been in fine form this season, winning the French Open and four other titles, but she is yet to get past the quarter-finals at Wimbledon and has been given a tough draw.

.

2️⃣ Coco Gauff

The American youngster has managed to win one Grand Slam so far in her career, and I am certain that this will be the first of many. She is one of the most athletic players on the women's circuit, meaning that her opponents need to work super hard to take a solitary point off her. She also has plenty of strength, so any weak shot that comes her way is quickly dispatched with interest. She has made it to the semi-finals of the Australian Open and French Open this season and will be looking to go one further at SW19.

3️⃣ Ons Jabeur

The Tunisian is yet to pick up a Grand Slam title, but she has made it to three Slam finals, so she is not a stranger to going deep in one of these big events. When she plays at the top of her game, she varies her playing style as much as she can so that her opponents are kept guessing. She is equally at home on any type of surface and likes to use slices and drop shots to earn her points. She is yet to win a title this season, but I feel that she has what it takes to claim the biggest title of her career to date.

4️⃣ Elena Rybakina

The 25-year-old knows what it feels like to win such a prestigious competition as she was the champion at SW19 back in 2022. She has not won a Slam since, but she did make it to the final of the Australian Open in 2023. Her main strength is her powerful serve, which she is also very accurate with. She also has the ability to hit speedy backhand and forehand shots with the aim of finishing a rally as soon as possible. However, she plays a high-risk brand of tennis which can lead to plenty of unforced errors. She has had a decent 2024 to date, winning a total of three titles.

📊 Wimbledon Winners

When you are betting on a sports event such as Wimbledon, it is always wise to have a look at previous winners before you go and put a wager down. This is because some players excel in certain conditions and when playing in particular events. Also, experience in going deep in a competition is something that should not be ignored as it allows them to learn how to cope with huge amounts of pressure. Below are the results of recent women's Wimbledon finals:

🏆 Wimbledon Ladies Singles Final Prediction

The top bookies believe that Gauff or Swiatek| will win the title this year, but my money will be on Jabeur to collect her first Slam title. She has made it to the previous two finals of Wimbledon, so she clearly has the skill set to perform well on grass surfaces. Her variety of shots make her hard to read and the draw has been quite kind to her. The same cannot be said for the likes of Swiatek, so Jabeur could be a lot fresher come the business end of the competition. I can see her going one step further this time around and finally picking up her first Grand Slam title.

My Wimbledon Prediction: Ons Jabeur to win.

⭐ Wimbledon Ladies Betting Tips

Now that you are aware as to who I believe will win the women's Wimbledon event this year, I am going to take some time to give you some other top tips to consider. Please always remember to gamble responsibly no matter what it is that you ultimately decide to place a bet on.

Who is My Dark Horse?

There is always someone who seems to come out of nowhere to give the favourites a bit of a scare, and some of the dark horses this year include the likes of Madison Keys, Jessica Pegula, and Daria Kasatkina. Who is my ultimate dark horse though?

Top Tip 1: Bet on Pegula to cause an upset: Pegula has the ability to hit aggressive and flat groundstrokes with accuracy while also managing to get the ball to skid off the surface. If you have played tennis on grass before, you will know just how tricky it can be to hit a ball that is skidding through. She recently picked up a title on grass, so she will be heading into this competition with a lot of confidence behind her. She skipped the French Open this year, so tiredness should not be an issue at SW19.

Each Way Betting

In tennis, just like in horse racing, you will have the option of putting down an each-way wager. This is actually two separate bets as you are betting on a particular player to get to the final and also on them to go on and win it. If your player loses in the final, you will still receive some kind of return. Below are some stats to consider before you slap down an each-way bet:

  • 18 of the last 20 finalists were ranked 25th or higher in the rankings.
  • Eight of the previous ten winners were ranked 15th or above.
  • Nine of the previous ten champions had won 60% of their grass-court matches.
  • Seven of the last ten victors had at least one Grand Slam title under their belt.

Top Tip 2: Place an each-way bet on Madison Keys: Madison Keys has never won a Grand Slam - in fact, she has yet to make it to the final of a big event. The best that she has ever achieved is a semi-final of the French Open back in 2022, but I think she has a good chance of going deep at this year's Wimbledon. Her main weapon is how hard she can hit the ball, while her height gives her extra reach that some of her rivals do not have. She has just as much power as Serena Williams, which is saying something.

Who Would I Not Bet On?

There is always one top player who ends up struggling and does not live up to the hype surrounding them. These are the players that the bookmakers love because many tennis bettors will bet on them to go on and win, only for them to end up being dumped from the competition early.

Top Tip 3: Do not bet on Emma Radacanu : Radacanu did win the US Open in 2021, but she has been living off of that success for the previous three years. She has been knocked out early in many Grand Slam competitions since and, although some think that she is a dark horse for Wimbledon this year, I am not sitting on that bandwagon. I think she is overrated and will be lucky to even make it to the last eight, let alone go on and win.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions About Wimbledon

What Are the Best Betting Sites for Wimbledon 2024?

Due to the prestige of this competition, many bookies will offer odds and markets for Wimbledon. However, they have not all been cut from the same cloth and three that I recommend are BetUK Sport, Betiton, and All British Sport.

Who Will Win the 2024 Wimbledon?

The bookmakers think that Swiatek or Gauff will come out on top, but my money is on Ons Jabeur. I like the variety that she has in her play while the fact that she made it to the previous two Wimbledon finals tells us that her game is well-suited to playing on grass.

Who Has the Most Wimbledon Titles?

Martina Navratilova is the most successful female player at Wimbledon as she won the title a total of nine times.

Ons Jabeur to win
