All-Ireland Football Championship Winner – Outright Odds (2025)

The powerhouses of Dublin and Kerry were both absent from the latter stages of the All-Ireland Football Championship in 2024, with the Dubs out in the last-eight and the Kingdom turned over by Galway in the semi-finals before surprise package Armagh won the decider. They will join the likes of Derry, Donegal, Tyrone and more hoping to be crowned kings in 2025.

All Ireland Football Betting Tips

The All-Ireland SFC is the most sought after prize in Gaelic football and in 2025 the race to lift the Sam Maguire Cup will be intense once again. Armagh were surprise winners last time out and they'll give hope to plenty of other counties that it can be done. Powerhouses like Dublin and Kerry will be keen to flex their muscles after failing to reach the final in 2024.

Donegal to win

Donegal were the team that perhaps left it behind in 2024. The Tir Conaill side were back under the tutelage of iconic manager Jim McGuinness and seemingly had control of their All-Ireland semi-final against Galway in the second half before losing out. They had defeated Armagh in the Ulster decider and would have fancied their chances against the Orchard County once more in the All Ireland betting odds for a rematch. McGuinness' first term as Donegal boss brought All-Ireland glory. With the new that All-Ireland winning captain Michael Murphy is to come out of retirement, Donegal 8.00 are major contenders going into 2025 to be the All Ireland SFC winner.

Derry to win

Derry were amongst the favourites in 2024 GAA All Ireland football championship odds but the Oak Leaf county underperformed badly. Micky Harte was installed as boss, a controversial choice, and the Tyrone stalwart perhaps put too strong an emphasis on the league to try and win over supporters. They won a National League title but were turned over soon after in the Championship by Donegal and, from there, they never forged any momentum. Harte left in the offseason and, with a new boss in charge, Derry 12.00 will have a strong chance to get back on track and will feature in many All Ireland football betting tips for the new season.

Galway to win

Padraig Joyce and Galway fell agonisingly short in the All Ireland final in '24 against Armagh. It was their second final loss in three years. The Tribesmen are a consistent force now and will feel they should be right in the mix once more in the new season. They may well knock hard on the door again. The likes of Kerry and Dublin are more fancied in many minds but Galway 9.00 are still a serious force.

All-Ireland Football Betting Markets

Outright Betting

The outright betting market for All-Ireland SFC refers to the last team standing and is available on most new uk betting sites! That is the county that successfully navigates through the All Ireland series to the final in Croke Park in July 2025 and then outlasts their opponents to win the decider and lift the Sam Maguire Cup on the steps of the famous Dublin stadium.

The Over/Under Market

The Over/Under market is popular in GAA betting and refers to the total amount of goals scored in a game. Each bookmaker will set a tally in their sports betting offering and punters can bet on the total scores from both teams coming in over or under this marker. When at attacking team like Dublin are playing, punters might be tempted to go over the set total goals marker.

Odd/Even Final Points Total

One of the simplest of GAA betting markets is the Odd/Even Final Points Total bet. As the name suggests, this market simply refers to the total number of scores in the game being either an odd or even number at the final whistle. In this market, you are certain of a sweat right until the final kick!

Handicap Betting

Quite often in GAA football betting, teams are not evenly matched. For example, Dublin are often heavy favourites to win most of their games. Handicap betting gives one team a theoretical headstart on the scoreboard for betting purposes only and attempts to make a more even contest in a game where one team is likely to dominate according to the pre-game betting tips.

Total Points Over/Under

The Total Points Over/Under market refers to the combined tally of points scored by both teams in a game, including goals and their corresponding point values. If punters are expecting a wide open game with plenty scores, they may choose to bet over the bookmakers set benchmark for this market, perhaps in a game where the attacking talents on show are strong if Kerry and David Clifford are in town.

All Ireland SFC Format

The format for the All-Ireland SFC will remain as it was in 2024. After the four provincial championships are completed, the 16 best teams in the land with play in the All Ireland Series, with the remaining counties dropping into the Tailteann Cup. They go into four groups of four in a round robin phase. The top team in each group goes straight into the quarter-finals, with the second and third place teams competing in preliminary quarter finals to reach the quarter finals. From there it is straight knockout with quarter-finals, semi-finals and then the final itself.

Interesting Facts about the All-Ireland Championship

The All-Ireland SFC in 2024 was full of shocks. Dublin, perennial champions since the turn of the century, were eliminated in the last-eight, their earliest exit from the All-Ireland race in 15 years. That seemingly paved the way for Kerry to claim Sam Maguire, but the Kingdom were stunned by Armagh in the semi-finals. Donegal were the surprise package as Jim McGuinness returned as manager, while Mickey Harte endured a torrid time in his one-year stint as Derry boss.

Mayo's painstaking wait for Sam Maguire rolled on, and their neighbours Galway appeared likely to claim the silverware only for Kieran McGeeney and Armagh to spoil the party for their first win since 2002 and just their second ever as the Orchard County edged the final at Croke Park in front of 82,164 spectators by a single point from a crestfallen Galway team losing their second final in three years.

History of the All-Ireland Football Championship

The All-Ireland SFC has been around since 1887 and is organised by Ireland's largest sporting body, the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It remains an amateur sport and is played with pride by the competing counties. 33 teams currently participate in the All-Ireland Championship, with Kerry, Dublin, Galway and Cavan being the most successful teams in their respective provinces of Munster, Leinster, Connacht and Ulster. The title has been won by 19 different counties, 17 of whom have won the title more than once and Kerry (38) are the most successful of all, seven clear of Dublin.

All Ireland GAA Senior Football Roll of Honour

The reigning All Ireland champions are Armagh, who grabbed just their second ever crown in 2024, adding to their 2002 win. Kieran McGeeney captained the team in '02 and managed them last year.

Kerry's tally of 38 wins sees them stand tall, still seven clear of Dublin despite the Boys in Blue being dominant from 2011-2023. In total 19 different counties have won the All Ireland Senior Football Championship with Clare, Monaghan, London, Waterford, Laois and Antrim the only teams who have reached All Ireland finals and not been successful at least once.
