Premier League All-Stars: Standout Performers of the 2024/25 Season!
10/01/2025 15:53:27As the Premier League hits the halfway mark of another captivating season filled with top-tier football, we have taken the opportunity to highlight some of the standout players from the first half. These individuals have distinguished themselves among the league's brightest stars. Without further ado, here is our 2024/25 Premier League Team of the Season so far:
Mid Term Team of the Season
Goalkeeper: David Raya (Arsenal)
The former Brentford stopper had a few ropey moments during his first season with Arsenal last year, but he has now firmly proven himself as one of the best keepers in the world. He has 7 clean sheets in 19 games and is key to the defensive strength of Arsenal under Mikel Arteta.
Right Back: Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool)
It will be a huge blow if Alexander Arnold is able to leave Liverpool for Real Madrid next summer for nothing. The best footballing full back to ever grace the Premier League is enjoying a great season with 4 assists to his name. He has also been part of a defence that has only conceded 17 goals in 18 games.
Centre Back: Nikola Milenkovic (Nottingham Forest)
A major part of Nottingham Forest’s run to second in the table has been the form of centre half Nikola Milenkovic. The Serbian may have cost only £12 million from Fiorentina in the summer but he has played a leading role in Forest conceding only 18 goals in 19 games, the third best defensive record in the division.
Centre Back: Virgil Van Dijk (Liverpool)
At 33, Van Dijk is enjoying a new lease of life under Arne Slot this season. One of the best centre backs in Premier League history, the Liverpool captain, like Mo Salah is entering the final six months of his Liverpool contract but that has not stopped him putting in numerous world class performances this year, as the club bid for their 20th League title.
Left Back: Antonee Robinson (Fulham)
One of the best attacking full backs in the League, Robinson deserves his spot in this list. Providing 7 assists for high flying Fulham already, the US international may find himself subject of interest from some of the League’s big hitters soon enough.
Centre Midfield: Ryan Gravenberch (Liverpool)
A real surprise package on this list, Gravenberch has been a revelation in Arne Slot’s midfield this season. The ease in which the Dutchman has stepped up from bit part attacking midfielder to key holding midfielder has been as impressive as the Liverpool football so far this campaign.
Centre Midfield: Moises Caicedo (Chelsea)
Caicedo has finally looked like the £115 million player Chelsea splashed out for in 2023 this season as he has stepped up as Chelsea have begun to look like a top-quality team under new boss Enzo Maresca. In the absence of Rodri, the former Brighton man has stepped forward as the best holding midfielder in the League and will be key to any success Chelsea may achieve in the coming years.
Right Wing: Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)
The League’s Player of the Season elect is having another barnstorming season in Liverpool colours. The Anfield club find themselves 8 points clear at the top of the table heading into the New Year, with Salah’s 30 goal involvements, including 17 goals and 13 assists, a major factor in that. Liverpool fans will hope he can be tied down to a new contract as his current deal expires at the end of this season.
Attacking Midfield: Cole Palmer (Chelsea)
The England international may not have featured too much at the Euros in the summer but he has certainly responded with his form for Chelsea so far this season. His 18 goal involvements, including 12 goals and 6 assists is only bettered by Mohammed Salah, and the 22-year-old created history earlier this year when he became the first player in Premier League history to score four goals in the first half of a match.
" These individuals have distinguished themselves among the league's brightest stars"
Left Wing: Matheus Cunha (Wolves)
Wolves’ fans must be grateful the Brazilian is playing for them this season, as they looked destined for the drop under Gary O’ Neil before a pick-up in form under new boss Portuguese coach Vitor Pereira in December. The former Atletico Madrid player has 10 goals and 4 assists to his name, and Wolves supporters will now be wondering how much longer they can hold onto their prized asset.
Striker: Alexander Isak (Newcastle United)
The Sweden international has hit 12 goals in just 17 Premier League appearances this season and is justifying all the hype that surrounds the former Real Sociedad front man. Without doubt the League’s top striker at the moment, perhaps Newcastle’s reported £150 million valuation is not so crazy after all.
