The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes, previously known as the Platinum Jubilee Stakes, is a group one race run over six furlongs. As the 2024 edition approaches, I'm eager to find out who the favourites and key runners are for this prestigious race. In this Royal Ascot betting prediction, you will find information on the 2024 Queen Elizabeth Stakes predictions, odds, and tips more.
🏆 Royal Ascot Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes Prediction
Since launching in 1868, not many horses have won the race twice, excluding famous Prince Charlie who has bagged three wins. Such stats might make you reconsider betting on Kinross as the favourite, but I recommend placing an each-way bet on him on the best Irish betting sites. Kinross may have only come eighth and seventh place previously, but I have a feeling that his recent win at the City of York Stakes hints of something big to come at Royal Ascot.
You could make an argument for the pair of Mill Stream and Shartash as top contenders as well, but my Queen Elizabeth Stakes prediction is for Kinross to win.
My Prediction – Kinross to Win!
🏇 Royal Ascot Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes Betting Betting Preview
Run over six furlongs, this race attracts quite a lot of punters, with most bookies offering competitive horse racing betting odds. Below, I will look at the main runners and give you the current odds at top Irish betting sites.
1️⃣ Kinross
Trained by Ralph Beckett, Kinross is poised to perform well in the 2024 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes. The seven-year-old has been a consistent performer, winning multiple yearly group events over the past three seasons. Although he finished outside the top three in 2023, he managed to win at both Goodwood and York. With a strong track record and as one of the favourites for the six-furlong contest, Kinross is well-placed for both outright and each-way betting.
2️⃣ Mill Stream
Mill Stream is hoping to secure his first group one victory in the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes. The four-year-old is in excellent form and will be looking for at least a place in this year's Royal Ascot, possibly edging the win.
Trained by Jane Chapple-Hyam, Mill Stream recently topped the group two Duke of York Stakes by a whisker and also secured victory in the group three Prix de Meautry. I think Mill Stream will definitely be one to watch come the finish post. In recent outings, he finished sixth in the Sprint Cup and eighth in the British Champions Sprint in October.
3️⃣ Shartash
Shartash is a little down on the favourites list, but Archie Watson who has a strong record at the Royal meeting, is vying to make it to the group one level. Formerly trained by Johny Murtagh, the four-year-old had an ambitious juvenile campaign and finished in first in the group two Railway Stakes. He wasn’t that successful in the 2023 season but made a winning start at Thirsk last month.
While the Archie Watson-trained runner failed to impress in his reappearance at Musselburgh, it did bounce back under a good ride from Connor Murtagh. I see Shartash as a top contender for a group one race at Royal Ascot, just one place lower than Kinross and Mill Stream in terms of odds at BetUK.
⭐ Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes Betting Tips
My money is on Kinross to put in enough of a performance to pip the others at the post, but I can see why some bettors may be edgy about this prospect, given that he has not had many recent top-three finishes. For that reason, I think I would flirt more with the idea of an each-way bet instead of taking on the extra risk of an outright win.
I also like the look of Mill Stream for this race after an impressive Duke of York Stakes win, but with my favourite, Kinross, set in stone, Mill Stream would have to go down as an each-way bet for me.
