The second 14:00 GMT Premier League kick-off on the 14th of April will take place at the London Stadium and will see West Ham take on Fulham. The Hammers are still in with an excellent shout of claiming a spot in European competition next season, while Fulham's season is all but over as they are far behind the pack in the race for Europe and are sitting comfortably above the Relegation Zone. Which part of London will the three points go to? Let's dive into my prediction and find out my views on the matter.
🏆 West Ham vs Fulham: Who Will Win?
West Ham are currently sitting in 7th place with 48 points to their name - just one point adrift of Manchester United, who occupy 6th spot. Depending on England's co-efficient ranking come the end of the season, 6th spot might just be enough to claim a Europa League spot. In their previous EPL match, they defeated Wolves 2-1 but were fortunate to walk away with all three points as Wolves had a late goal wrongly disallowed. They will not care about that though, and will head into this match full of confidence.
Fulham are sitting in 13th place with 39 points under their belt, but have very little left to play for this season. However, this means that they can play with little pressure on their shoulders and just see how high up the table they can finish. A top-half finish in the EPL should be considered a very good achievement for a club like Fulham. In their last match, the Cottagers had a close match against Newcastle, but they ended up losing 1-0 to a late goal.
This is one of those matches that is not easy to call, but I am not going to sit on the fence and declare that it will be a draw. No, I think West Ham will put in a solid performance, after their poor display against Bayer Leverkusen on Thursday, and come away with an important three points. As for the scoreline, I am going to go for a 2-1 win for the Hammers.
My Prediction: 🏆West Ham 2 Fulham 1 ⚽
💯 West Ham vs Fulham Match Odds
When Fulham and West Ham last met on the 10th of December, the Cottagers put in a very solid showing and walked away with a thumping 5-0 win. It was not actually a 5-0 game, but Fulham were just extremely proficient in front of goal - scoring five of their eight shots on target. Raul Jimenez opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, and they were three up at half-time thanks to goals from Willian and Tosin Adarabioyo. Harry Wilson scored their 4th in the 60th minute, and they added salt to the wound in the 89th minute when Carlos Vinicius found the back of the net.
Whether you are betting on established or new UK betting sites, you obviously want to bet with the cream of the crop. This is why below I have provided you with five quality bookmakers and the odds that they are currently offering for three of my favourite football betting markets - match winner, both teams to score, and over/under 2.5 goals.
🏅 West Ham vs Fulham: Match Winner Odds
Since West Ham are sitting six places above Fulham in the league table, you would expect them to be heavy favourites to go on and claim all three points on offer. While they are favourites to win, their odds are longer than I would have expected them to be. In fact, the match winner odds, which you can see in the table below, tell us that the bookies believe that Fulham have every chance of coming away from this match with either a draw or a win.
Team | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
West Ham | 2.38 | 2.38 | 2.45 | 2.33 | 2.33 |
Draw | 3.60 | 3.60 | 3.70 | 3.60 | 3.60 |
Fulham | 2.72 | 2.72 | 2.80 | 2.85 | 2.88 |
⚽ West Ham vs Fulham: Both Teams To Score Odds
For most Premier League matches, the bookmakers will favour both teams to find the back of the net because goals are not rare in this league - there have been more than 1000 goals scored this season. This game does not buck that trend as the bookies are pretty certain that West Ham and Fulham will score. As you should know from my score prediction above, unless you have not been paying attention, I also think there will be goals for both sides in this match, and below are the odds that are on offer:
BTTS | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Yes | 1.52 | 1.52 | 1.50 | 1.48 | 1.54 |
No | 2.43 | 2.43 | 2.40 | 2.35 | 2.40 |
🥅 West Ham vs Fulham: Over/Under 2.5 Goals Odds
The five sports betting sites that I have opted to recommend to my readers are pretty sure that there will be over 2.5 goals scored in this clash. They are also pretty certain that there will be under 3.5 goals scored. What this tells us is that they believe that the most likely outcome for this game is that West Ham will pick up a 2-1 win. Exactly the same as what I predicted earlier. Below are the over/under 2.5 goals odds for this West Ham vs Fulham match:
Over/Under 2.5 Goals | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Over 2.5 | 1.60 | 1.60 | 1.62 | 1.58 | 1.60 |
Under 2.5 | 2.19 | 2.19 | 2.25 | 2.20 | 2.23 |
✔️ West Ham vs Fulham - Betting Tips
Before you go ahead and put any bet on this match, whether that is with your own money or via a free bet that you have earned, you should check out my West Ham vs Fulham betting tips below are you might just find a bet that you really like the look of. If you do not, well it has not cost you a penny.
- Tip 1: Bet on West Ham to win: Fulham can play this match with very little stress on their shoulders as they are not fighting for anything in particular, but I believe that West Ham have more quality than their London rivals. Furthermore, apart from their 5-0 win last December, Fulham's head-to-head record against West Ham is pretty terrible - they have lost five and drawn one of the previous six matches. The Hammers have only lost three times at home this season, while Fulham have just two away wins. You can find odds of 2.45 at 10Bet for a West Ham win.
- Tip 2: Bet on both teams to score: Both teams have scored in the last seven matches that West Ham have played in, while seven of Fulham's previous ten matches have seen both teams find the back of the net. Furthermore, 69% of West Ham's home games this season and 63% of Fulham's away matches have seen goals for both teams, so the stats are all pointing towards BTTS. Those who want to bet on this market can find odds of 1.54 at BetUK Sports.
- Tip 3: Bet on Mohammed Kudus to score: The Ghanaian has been one of the star performers for West Ham this season, and his performances have seen him garner a lot of attention from other clubs. He has found the back of the net seven times this season and also has four assists to his. His pace and trickery should cause the Cottagers plenty of issues, and those who want to back him to score can find odds of 2.35 at LeoVegas Sport.
- Tip 4: Bet on a 2-1 win for West Ham: Betting on the correct score of the match can be fruitful if luck is with you because the odds are usually quite high for this tricky market. This should be a close match, but I think that West Ham's greater attacking threat should see them score a couple of goals. However, they do not keep many clean sheets, and I can see Fulham getting a consolation goal. Betiton Sport are offering odds of 8.55 for this scoreline.
N.B. Always make sure that you gamble responsibly when you are betting on football. I suggest that you set up a budget and deposit limits so that you do not spend more than you can afford to lose.
1️⃣West Ham Update
David Moyes must wonder what he has to do in order to win over all of the West Ham fans. Last season he guided them to some European silverware and this season they are in the last eight of the Europa League - although, they are likely going to be eliminated by Bayer Leverkusen. They are also in with a very good chance of playing in Europe again next season, but still, some West Ham fans want to see the back of him. Yes, they do not play the most entertaining football, but good results are the main thing.
From the last ten matches they have played, West Ham have picked up 12 points - three wins, three draws, and four defeats. Their form has dropped off a bit, but they have still only suffered one defeat in seven. Below are their previous five EPL results:
Last 5 Premier League Games | |
---|---|
Wolves1 West Ham2 | 06.04.24 |
West Ham1 Tottenham Hotspur1 | 02.04.24 |
Newcastle4 West Ham3 | 30.03.24 |
West Ham1 Aston Villa1 | 17.03.24 |
West Ham2 Burnley2 | 10.03.24 |
Moyes has just three injuries to contend with, which is a bit of a rarity at this late stage in the season. In the following table, you can see the three absentees for West Ham:
Player | Reason |
---|---|
Jarrod Bowen | Knee Injury |
Alphonse Areola | Groin Injury |
Kalvin Phillips | Meniscus Injury |
2️⃣Fulham Update
Marco Silva is doing a really good job at Fulham as he has guided them to safety with six games remaining - their aim each season is to book themselves a spot in next season's EPL, and they have achieved this aim with plenty to spare. If they can get their recruitment right in the summer, they might be able to compete for a Europa Conference League spot during the 2024/25 season.
Their form has actually been slightly better than West Ham's over the last ten rounds of matches - they have four wins, two draws, and four defeats, giving them 14 points from the last 30. However, they have lost two games on the spin, so maybe their minds have started to drift to the beach already. Below are their previous five EPL results:
Last 5 Premier League Games | |
---|---|
Fulhm0 Newcastle United1 | 06.04.24 |
Nottingham Forest3 Fulham1 | 02.04.24 |
Sheffield United3 Fulham3 | 30.03.24 |
Fulham3 Tottenham Hotspur0 | 16.03.24 |
Wolves2 Fulham1 | 09.03.24 |
Silva is one of the luckiest managers in the league at the moment as he currently has no players out injured for this clash against West Ham. Many other managers would give an arm to be in such a position.
