luton-vs-sheffield-united-epl luton-vs-sheffield-united-epl

This is a big clash at the bottom of the Premier League as both of these teams are in a huge battle to stay in the first division of English football. Luton have managed to find some form in recent weeks and have climbed out of the Relegation Zone as a result. Sheffield United, on the other hand, are in the last chance saloon as they are already ten points adrift of safety. Will Luton Town pick up three points that could go a long way to giving them a second season in the EPL, or will Sheffield keep their survival dreams intact? Read my prediction below to find out my views.

🏆 Luton Town vs Sheffield United: Who Will Win?

Luton Town looked dead and buried not too long ago, but they have found some form from somewhere and are now sitting in 17th, one point above Everton in 18th. When it comes to current Premier League form, Luton are actually sitting in 4th place - they have picked up three wins and two draws from their previous six matches. In this time, they have scored a total of 15 goals while conceding just ten.

While Luton are sitting pretty in 4th in the form table, Sheffield United are right at the bottom having only picked up two draws in their previous six matches. During this time, they have scored just 7 goals while conceding 16, so it is little wonder why they are struggling so much in this league and look dead certs for relegation to the Championship. They really are the worst team in the division, and need more than a miracle to survive - but, hey, maybe the officials do not eat sandwiches in the Championship.

With the way that Luton have been playing as of late, I can only see one winner in this match, and that is the home side. They are playing with a lot of confidence and have turned Kenilworth Road into a bit of a fortress. Even City went there and struggled to get the win. What scoreline am I expecting? Well, I am going to go for a 2-1 win to Luton Town.

My Prediction: 🏆 Luton 2 Sheffield United 1 ⚽

💯 Luton Town vs Sheffield United Match Odds

There are many entertaining football betting markets out there, but the three that I like to pay closer attention to when it comes to Premier League matches are:

  • Match winner
  • Both teams to score
  • Over/Under 2.5 goals

Established and new UK betting sites will make sure that they offer odds for these three popular markets as they know that many punters like to place bets on them. Below I shall have a gander at the Luton vs Sheffield odds that five top bookies are offering for these markets. If you would like to find out more about any of these bookies, then take a read of our reviews by clicking on the logos that I have provided.

Luton vs Sheffield: Match Winner Odds

Given the difference in form between Luton Town and Sheffield United, you probably guessed that Luton are the big favourites to pick up the points that are on offer. Luton destroyed Brighton at Kenilworth Road last week and also beat Newcastle a few weeks ago, while Sheffield have just a solitary point from their previous five away games. The form guide points to a home win and, as you can see below, there are some decent odds on offer:

Team
Luton1.701.701.731.681.68
Draw3.753.753.803.903.95
Sheffield United4.454.454.504.904.90

Luton vs Sheffield: Both Teams To Score Odds

The bookies are pretty confident that both teams will find the back of the net in this match, but I am not entirely sure where that confidence has come from. Sheffield have only scored 19 goals all season, so it is not like they are having plenty of success in front of goal. I will give you my opinion on this market in the next section of this betting guide, but for now, I will just supply you with the odds that are on offer:

Team
Yes1.661.661.701.681.75
No2.092.092.051.972.02

Luton vs Sheffield: Over/Under 2.5 Goals Odds

With regard to the total number of goals that will be scored in this match, the bookies are a little less sure. They are favouring over 2.5 goals, but only ever so slightly. While I do think that there will be at least three goals scored in this game, I can see why the bookmakers are somewhat sitting on the fence. Below are the over/under 2.5 goals odds for this Luton vs Sheffield clash:

Team
Over 2.51.721.721.751.721.77
Under 2.51.991.992.052.022.08

✔️ Luton Town vs Sheffield United - Betting Tips

Before you go ahead and put down any wager, you should always check out some top football betting tips from some experienced tipsters. This is why you shall now find my betting advice for this Luton vs Sheffield game.

  • Tip 1: Bet on Luton Town to win: Form is something that should always be looked at when it comes to the match winner market, and Luton are in much better form than Sheffield United. The Hatters picked up a very good point away to Newcastle at the weekend, while the Blades were completely blunt during a 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Aston Villa. Luton won the reverse fixture 3-2, and I would be surprised if they did not pick up another three points this time around. At the time of writing, you can find odds of 1.73 for a Luton Town.
  • Tip 2: Bet on both teams to score: Clean sheets for these two teams are as rare as rocking horse doo-doo as they have only kept a combined total of three clean sheets between them in 45 matches. Luton are conceding an average of 1.90 goals per match, while Sheffield are conceding a staggering 2.57 goals per game. I can see both teams getting on the scoresheet here, and BetUK Sports are offering odds of 1.75 for it to happen.
  • Tip 3: Bet on over 2.5 goals: Since I think that both teams will score and that Luton will win, you do not need to some sort of arithmetic genius to work out that I also think there will be at least 3 goals in this game. From the previous 12 matches that these teams have played in, over 2.5 goals have been scored on 8 occasions. If you want to back there to be 3 or more goals in this game, then BETUK Sports are have odds of 1.77 available at the moment.
  • Tip 4: Bet on Luton to win 2-1: If you agree with my scoreline of 2-1 in Luton's favour, then there are some decent odds that you can try to take full advantage of. At the time of writing, Betiton Sport are offering odds of 7.45 for this scoreline.

1️⃣Luton Town Update

Luton Town looked certain for relegation seven or eight match rounds ago, but they have turned things around and now I bet that quite a few people are putting down wagers on them to beat the drop. Having the fourth-best current form in the league is certainly something that they can be proud of, and in recent matches, they have shown that they can compete with teams that are battling for a European place this season.

2️⃣Sheffield United Updated

Not many Sheffield United fans would have expected their team to survive their first season back in the Premier League, but I imagine that they would have at least expected them to make a better fist of things. As it stands, they are going to be relegated with a whimper and run the risk of having one of the lowest points total in EPL history. The lowest is 11, which Derby managed in 2008, so they should at least manage to go beyond that one. They will have a point to prove this weekend after being hammered 5-0 by Villa at Bramall Lane.
