Four teams are left standing in the Champions League this season and know that they are just 180 minutes away from writing their names in the history books. The quarter-final legs were exactly what we thought they would be - exciting and full of drama. The first of the semi-finals will take place on the 30th of April and will see Real Madrid travel to the Allianz Arena to take on Bayern Munich. Who will go on to claim a big advantage ahead of the return leg in Madrid? Read on to find out all of my views.
🏆 Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid: Who Will Win?
There have been talks about this being one of the worst Bayern Munich teams in recent years, but this is complete hyperbole. Yes, they did not win the Bundesliga for the first time in 11 years, but this is more down to how good Bayer Leverkusen have been rather than how bad Bayern have been. Everyone had Arsenal down to knock them out in the quarter-finals, but they picked up an impressive draw at the Emirates and showed their grit and determination in the return leg to win 1-0 and sneak into the semi-finals 3-2 on aggregate.
Real Madrid beat Barcelona at the weekend to all but claim yet another La Liga title, and they will now have their eyes completely set on claiming their 15th Champions League trophy. Los Blancos had to play Manchester City in the quarter-finals and most would have predicted Pep Guardiola's men to make it through to the last four. The first leg was one of the best UCL matches in recent years, featuring six goals of the highest quality in a 3-3 draw. The second leg at the Etihad was a much cagier affair that was dominated by Man City. Real somehow managed to force the tie to penalties and booked themselves a spot in the last four.
Nobody wants to lose the first leg of a big tie, so I can imagine this being a pretty cagey affair. Bayern will give Real Madrid a good game and I can see this first leg ending all square. I am hoping for an entertaining draw, though, so I am going to go for a full-time score of 2-2.
My Prediction: 🏆 Bayern Munich 2 Real Madrid 2 ⚽

You can find betting opportunities for such big matches at most sports betting sites due to the prestige of the competition, but these five are the best of the best.

🏅 Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid: Match Winner Odds
Bayern Munich and Real Madrid have played a total of ten matches against each other and the German side have only managed to get the better of the Spanish team on two occasions. Los Blancos has seven wins in this fixture, while there has been just the one draw. The last time that they met in the Champions League was in the semi-final of the 2017/18 edition, and it was a very close tie which Madrid won 4-3 on aggregate.
The majority of the matches between these two teams have been won by the odd goal, which tells us that these two teams have historically been evenly matched. It should come as no surprise then to find out that the bookies are not entirely sure which way this game will go. They have put Bayern Munich as the favourites, which can be put down to the fact that they are playing at home. Below are the Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid match winner odds:
Team | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Bayern Munich | 2.33 | 2.33 | 2.40 | 2.33 | 2.40 |
Draw | 3.50 | 3.50 | 3.55 | 3.45 | 3.60 |
Real Madrid | 2.66 | 2.66 | 2.75 | 2.65 | 2.75 |
⚽ Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid: Both Teams To Score Odds
Due to the attacking talent that is always on display in the Champions League, goals are not uncommon. In fact, in this season's edition, there has been 364 goals scored at an average of 3.03 per game. Bayern Munich and Real Madrid have shown us they have no issues finding the back of the net, so the bookmakers are obviously going to back both teams to score in this game.
I agree with this and will give you my reasons for doing so in my "Betting Tips" section below. For now, just have a look at the BTTS odds to see if they appeal to you.
BTTS | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Yes | 1.50 | 1.50 | 1.53 | 1.57 | 1.61 |
No | 2.37 | 2.37 | 2.38 | 2.14 | 2.20 |
🥅 Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid: Over/Under 2.5 Goals Odds
The five bookmakers that I selected feel that the chances of there being over 2.5 goals are very high. However, they do not believe that the over 3.5 goals markets will come into play. The odds for this market, which can be seen in the table below, and the odds for the match winner and BTTS tell us that the bookies feel that a probable outcome for this game is Bayern Munich to win 2-1.
Over/Under 2.5 Goals | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Over 2.5 | 1.60 | 1.60 | 1.65 | 1.57 | 1.61 |
Under 2.5 | 2.15 | 2.15 | 2.20 | 2.14 | 2.20 |
✔️ Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid - Betting Tips
In this section of my Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid betting guide, I shall give your four top betting tips for this game. Whether you are making use of free bets or betting with your own real money, I recommend that you always check out what experienced tipsters are predicting as knowledge is power.
- Tip 1: Bet on a draw: This Bayern Munich team is not as bad as some have been declaring this season - if they are, then it does not say much about those teams that they have knocked out on their way to the last four of the 2023/24 UCL. Likewise, I do not think that this is the best Real Madrid team in recent years. Bayern have not lost a home match in the Champions League this season while Real have not lost an away match. I can see both teams cancelling each other out in this first leg and being content with taking a draw to the Santiago Bernabéu. If you want to back a draw, then you can find odds of 3.60 at BetUK Sports.
- Tip 2: Bet on both teams to score: From the ten games that these two teams have played against each other, both teams have found the back of the net on seven occasions. With the likes of Harry Kane, Jamal Musiala, Jude Bellingham, Rodrygo, and Vinicius Junior all on the field, it is hard to see a clean sheet for either side. Furthermore, 80% of Real's away matches in the 2023/24 UCL this season have seen both teams score. If you want to bet on BTTS, then BetUK Sports are offering odds of 1.61.
- Tip 3: Bet on Harry Kane to score: Kane left Tottenham to win trophies, but there is a good chance that Bayern Munich will have just their fourth trophyless season since the Englishman was born. The last time they failed to win any silverware in a season was in 2011/12. If they do not win a trophy, it will not be through any fault of Kane's as he has scored 33 goals in 30 appearances for his new club. If you want to back Kane to score, then check out LeoVegas' odds closer to the matchday.
- Tip 4: Bet on a 2-2 draw scoreline: This is a game which should see plenty of goals due to the attacking talent that both teams have at their disposal. However, I do not see either team taking a small advantage in the return leg the following week. No team wants to lose the first leg of such a big tie, so I would not be surprised if both teams settled for a draw before going all out in Spain. If you think that this match will finish 2-2, then Betiton Sport are currently offering their punters odds of 10.40 for this particular scoreline.
N.B. Always ensure that you gamble responsibly. You can do this by setting a budget and sticking to it. Never chase any losses.
1️⃣Bayern Munich Update
Bayern Munich can no longer win the Bundesliga and they are out of the German domestic cups, so their only chance of silverware this season is the Champions League. They have a nine-point cushion over Dortmund in 5th place, with just four games left to play, so their spot in next season's UCL is all but guaranteed. As a result of this, they can just put all of their focus on this big semi-final against Real Madrid.
From the ten matches that Bayern Munich have played this season in the UCL, they have won seven, drawn two, and lost one. They have been averaging 1.80 goals per game while conceding just 0.90. Below you can find their previous five results in all competitions at the time of writing:

2️⃣Real Madrid Update
Real Madrid had a big game against their fierce rivals, Barcelona, at the weekend and they took one huge stride to claim the La Liga title thanks to a 91st minute winner from Jude Bellingham. With just six games left to play, they have a big 11-point gap over their rivals, so they all but have both of their hands on the La Liga title. They can now just put all of their effort into winning the competition that they have owned - most clubs, such as Arsenal, would love to win just one UCL title but Real Madrid are going for their 15th title.
From the ten games that Real Madrid have played in this season's competition, they have won seven, drawn three, and lost zero. During these matches, they have averaged 2.20 goals per game while conceding 1.20. Below you can see their previous five results in all competitions:
