We seem to be hurtling through the matches at this Cricket World Cup, and the 15th match of this entertainment tournament sees South Africa play the Netherland's at Dharamsala's picturesque Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium. This game will start at 09:30 GMT on the 17th of October. South Africa are unbeaten with two wins from two, while the Dutch are looking for their first win of the competition. Will South Africa make it three from three, or will the Dutch pull off a shock? Below are my predictions and the current odds from top British cricket betting sites.
💯 South Africa v Netherlands Betting Odds
Some New UK betting sites and more established ones in the UK will offer their punters a nice variety of cricket betting markets as they know how popular cricket is among sports bettors. Out of all the different available markets, three of the most entertaining ones are match winner, top batsman, and top bowler. Let us now take a look at the betting odds on offer for these markets.
Match Winner Odds: South Africa v Netherlands
Below you can find the match winner odds for South Africa v Netherlands:
Team | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
South Africa | N/A | N/A | 1.04 | 1.03 | 1.06 |
Netherlands | N/A | N/A | 11.00 | 8.00 | 11.00 |
Top Batsman Odds: South Africa v Netherlands
I really like the top batsman market since it offers plenty of entertainment, and sports betting should concentrate on entertainment value and not just the amount of money that could potentially be won. With this market, you need to predict the batsman that will go on to hit the most runs for their team.
Below I have provided you with the top batsman odds that are currently being offered for three batters that I feel have a really good shot at coming out on top in this market:
South Africa:
Player | ||
---|---|---|
Quinton de Kock | 3.75 | 3.00 |
Rassie van der Dussen | 4.50 | 3.25 |
Aiden Markram | 5.00 | 4.50 |
Netherlands:
Player | ||
---|---|---|
Max O'Dowd | 4.50 | 3.75 |
Colin Ackermann | 4.50 | 3.75 |
Vikramjit Singh | 5.00 | 3.75 |
Top Wicket Taker Odds: South Africa v Netherlands
Sometimes you might not know which batsman to put your money on and when such a scenario arises, you can think about concentrating on the bowling units instead by trying to predict the top bowler for either side. If more than one bowler ends the innings on the same number of wickets, then the winner will be the bowler who has conceded fewer runs.
Below I have provided you with the top wicket taker odds for three bowlers from each side:
South Africa:
Player | ||
---|---|---|
Kagiso Rabada | 3.25 | 3.00 |
Lungi Ngidi | 4.50 | 2.80 |
Keshav Maharaj | 5.00 | 4.75 |
Netherlands:
Player | ||
---|---|---|
Bas De Leede | 4.50 | 3.25 |
Aryan Dutt | 5.00 | 3.75 |
Paul van Meekeren | 5.00 | 4.00 |
The above odds were up to date at the time of writing. Find updated odds on the relevant bookmakers' sites.
🔍 South Africa v Netherlands Match Winner Prediction
After what has happened in the first few weeks of games, I do not envisage that many cricket bettors will be putting their hard-earned money on the Netherlands turning over South Africa. Not many would have considered putting money on South Africa to win the title, but in their opening two matches, they have shown us that they have the bowling and batting skills to upset the apple cart. However, they are known for choking when the real pressure is on, so it will be interesting to see if they can overcome this.
On their day, the Dutch can be a handful for most teams, but I cannot see them causing the South Africans too many issues as the Proteas have been on fire recently. The South African batsmen will be very confident about being able to cash in against an average Dutch bowling unit, while I can see the Dutch batsmen struggling with the raw pace of the South African fast bowlers.
When all of the above is taken into consideration, I see nothing but a win for South Africa, and a really comfortable one to boot.
My South Africa v Netherlands winner prediction: South Africa to win!
✔️ South Africa v Netherlands CWC Betting Tips
I will now give you my betting tips for South Africa v Netherlands:
Match Winner: South Africa to Win
South Africa and the Netherlands have played 7 ODI matches against each other, and South Africa are leading the way with six wins - the other match ended with a no result. Form and history is clearly on the side of the South Africans, and I cannot see any shock result happening here.
South Africa won their first two matches easily, and they are playing some of the best cricket that I have seen them play in recent years. Not only are their bowling and batting units are form, but they are also electric in the field. The Netherlands, it must be said, have not played poorly, but they just do not have the same resources that the likes of South Africa can call upon.
South Africa's odds are really short, and it is hard to argue with them. In all honesty, I would forget about putting money on South Africa since their odds are not enticing at all, but if you want to put money on a positive outcome for the Proteas, then Spreadex Sports are offering odds of 1.06 for them to win.
South Africa's Top Batsman Winner: Quinton de Kock to Win
In South Africa's first two games, I recommended backing Quinton de Kock to be their top scorer, and he has scored two centuries in those games. He will probably be happy to find out that I am recommending him once more as I seem to be a good luck charm for him. The opening batsman can be devastating at the top of the order and regularly gets his team off to a flier, and I can see him taking a liking to Netherland's average bowling unit.
Those who want to back de Kock to top score for South Africa can find odds of 3.75 at William Hill.
Netherlands' Top Batsman Winner: Max O'Dowd to Win
Max O'Dowd has had a lean start to the competition, hitting scores of just 5 and 16 in their first two games, but I feel that he has plenty of potential, which is why I have decided to back him to top score for the Netherlands in this match. He has plenty of power and if he can get through the first couple of overs, then I can see him cashing in. If he does manage to get a good score under his belt, then this will bode well for the rest of the competition.
Those who agree that O'Dowd will top score for the Netherlands can find odds of 4.50 on William Hill.
South Africa's Top Wicket Taker: Kagiso Rabada to Win Top Wicket Taker
It is not easy to select the top wicket taker for South Africa because they have so much quality in their ranks, but my money is on Kagiso Rabada to win this market in this match. He is one of the best fast bowlers around at the moment thanks to the variation and pace that he can bowl at. He bowls very cleverly and deceives his opponents with his changes in pace that are hard to pick. I can see him causing plenty of issues for the Dutch batsmen as they will not have come up against such quality that often.
If you want to put money on Rabada to take the most wickets for South Africa, then William Hill are currently odds of 3.25.
Netherlands' Top Wicket Taker: Aryan Dutt to Win Top Wicket Taker
I also found it difficult to predict the top wicket taker for the Netherlands because it is hard to think of any of them causing any issues for the quality batsmen that South Africa can call upon. In the end, I have decided to take a punt on Aryan Dutt as I have been impressed with the way that the 20-year-old has bowled in this competition so far. I know that he averages just under 50 with the ball, which is not great at all, but I think the South African might take him lightly and gift a couple of wickets.
If you would like to put money on Dutt to take the most wickets for the Dutch, then William Hill are currently offering odds of 5.00 for him to win.
