On the 20th of July, the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, will see one of the best boxers the world has ever seen take on a very popular YouTuber who is aiming to make it big as a boxer. This is not really the type of fight that screams excitement to me, but it is certainly drawing plenty of attention from all over the globe. Mike Tyson has dissed Jake Paul's boxing skills in the past, so now he has a chance to put his stacks of money where his mouth is - although he is nearly 60 years old.

Will Paul defeat a boxing legend who is past his prime or will he get knocked down by someone who is old enough to be his dad? This is what I am going to try and answer in this boxing prediction, so read on to find out who I think will come out on top.

💯 Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson Odds Table

Although this fight is several months away still, the best British bookies are already offering up their Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson odds. In the following table, you can find five of my favourite top bookmakers and their current odds for this fight - one that probably really should not be happening.

Team
Jake Paul1.491.49TBA1.471.52
DrawN/AN/AN/AN/AN/A
Mike Tyson2.392.39TBA2.282.37

As is indicated by the above odds on this Tyson fight, the top British bookies have Jake Paul as the favourite to go on and claim the victory here. However, Iron Mike will feel that he has just as good a chance of winning this fight due to the vast experience that he has in the ring. When it comes to sports of any kind, experience is something that cannot be underestimated when you are putting your wagers down.

We can get a better idea as to how much the bookies are favouring Paul by checking out the potential match winner returns that are on offer. For instance, if you decide to put £10 on Paul to win at All British Sports and he did exactly that, then you would see a return of £5.20 since their Jake Paul odds are 1.52. On the other hand, if you decided to put down a £10 wager on Tyson to win with the same bookie, your returns would be £13.70 since their Mike Tyson odds are 2.37. So, for the same £10 wager, there is a potential to earn a little over 2.5 times more for a Tyson win.

⚡Jake Paul Overview

jake-paul-desktop-banner jake-paul-desktop-banner

Jake Paul has had a relatively short boxing career to date as he has stepped into the ring on just 10 occasions. From the 10 fights that he has had, he has been victorious in nine and lost just once - six of these wins were via knockout, giving him an overall knockout percentage of 67%. From his last five fights, Paul has won four of them - two via knockout and two due to judges' decision.

His last fight happened quite recently as he took on and defeated Ryan Bourland on the 2nd of March in Puerto Rico. Before this fight, he had picked up another win against Andre August in December 2023, knocking him out in the very first round of their fight. Going into that winter bout, he had beaten Nate Diaz by unanimous decision and picked up his first boxing defeat at the hands of Tommy Fury. His fifth last fight was against Anderson Silva towards the backend of 2022, and he came out on top in this eight-round battle via unanimous decision.

Paul's last five bouts have been spread over one year, eight months, and 21 days, meaning that he has been fighting an average of every four months and six days. He has fought 28 rounds in total in these fights, meaning that his fights last an average of 5.6 rounds.

⭐ Mike Tyson Overview

mike-tyson-desktop-banner mike-tyson-desktop-banner

Iron Mike has fought a total of 56 fights in his extensive boxing career, winning 50 of them and losing just the six. From his half-century of wins in the ring, he has knocked his opponent out 44 times, giving him an 88% knockout percentage - considerably higher than Paul's. However, in his last five fights, Tyson has only managed to knock out one of his opponents.

In his last venture into the ring in 2020, Tyson fought against Roy Jones in California at the Dignity Health Sports Park (an ironic place for a 54-year-old to fight). This fight ended up going the distance and the judges scored it as a draw. Before that bout, you have to go all the way back to 2005 for his last fight, which was a loss to Kevin McBride. Going into this fight, he had a loss to Danny Williams and wins against Clifford Etienne and Lennox Lewis to his name.

Tyson's last adventure ringside came three years, seven months, and 22 days ago, with all of his previous five fights being spread out over a mammoth period of 22 years, 1 month, and 12 days. This means that he has been fighting roughly every four years, five months, and three days. Surely rust has to play a big factor when he steps into the ring against Paul on the 20th of July. In his last five bouts, he has fought 27 rounds in total, meaning that his fights last an average of 5.4 rounds.

💥 Paul vs Tyson: A Controversial Fight

Due to the massive age gap between the two fighters, there has been quite the amount of debate as to whether this is a fight that should even be going ahead. Boxing is one of the most dangerous sports for those who are in prime physical fitness, let alone for someone who will be just two years shy of his 60th birthday when this fight rolls around.

A big blow to the head can have a much more devastating impact at such an age, so it is easy to see why there are plenty of concerns around Tyson's health and well-being. Not too long ago, Tyson was seen moving with the aid of a cane and wheelchair, so he has obviously been suffering from some mobility issues. Jake Paul stoked the controversy even more when he came out and declared that one of them must die in the ring in July.

However, some have reacted positively to the news of this fight, which includes the likes of Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury. They feel that it is good for the sport because it will bring a lot of much-needed attention. They do say that any type of press is good press. In my view, I do not think this fight should be taking place, but we all know that money talks in this world of ours, and those involved will be making a killing.

Due to the nature of this fight, there will be some different rules, and I have listed the main Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson rules below for you:

  • Each round will be two minutes long instead of three, and the fight will be a maximum of eight rounds.
  • The two fighters will wear 14-ounce gloves, which are slightly more padded than the typical gloves used.
  • There had been talks of there being no judges should the fight go the distance, but this will not be the case.

🎁 Paul vs Tyson Top Free Bet Offers

The sports betting industry is one of the world's most competitive, so bookmakers have to come up with different ways to make themselves appealing to potential new customers. If they do not manage to stick out like the proverbial sore thumb, then new potential punters will take their money elsewhere.

One major way that bookmakers try to stand out is by offering top free bet offers that they feel will appeal to the majority. In the following table, you can find a variety of top free bet offers that are currently available to British boxing fans. 🏆 Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson Predictions

Like with all sports, some boxing events are pretty easy to predict, but this fight definitely does not fit into this category. Yes, Paul is the favourite with the bookmakers to win, but if Tyson can get a few of his well-known iron hits in early, then he can cause plenty of problems for his much younger opponent. I know some tipsters will sit on the fence for this fight, but I am never one to do that. I recommend that you bet on Paul to go on and win this fight, and below you can see my reasoning for this.

I believe that Paul will have the edge in this bout due to his youth and the fact that he is bound to be less rusty as he has been fighting a lot more in recent times than Tyson. He is extremely fit so will be able to keep up a fast pace and wear his much older opponent down. He has also shown in previous fights that he has some power behind his punches. I feel that the only way Tyson can win this fight is if he manages to knock Paul out before the 4th round. The longer the bout goes on, the easier it will be for Paul to pick his opponent off.

I can see Paul managing an early Tyson storm and will be able to take the fight into the 6th, 7th, and 8th rounds where he will have a better chance of winning courtesy of a technical knockout or via a unanimous decision with the judges.

My Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight prediction: Jake Paul to win on points.

This is not an easy fight for me to call since Paul has youth on his side while Tyson has plenty of boxing experience. However, I am going to bet on Paul to win because I think his fitness levels will allow him to take the fight deep, where he can then pick off his older opponent with jabs.
